Spring is in the air, and what better way to celebrate the season of renewal than with an Easter brunch picnic? Taking the festivities outdoors with such a unique event will have everyone from teens to adults hopping in excitement! After all, Easter isn't just about the chocolate eggs; it's about creating unforgettable experiences that last long after you find the final Easter egg.
We always kick our Easter off with the classic egg hunt. If you want to add a twist that will get even the most skeptical teens involved, you can create a hunt with puzzles, riddles, cryptic clues, or tasks that need to be completed to earn the egg. It's like an Easter-themed escape room but with more fresh air.
We always have one golden egg that contains $50.00, intensifying the hunt for the teens. For the smaller kids, the golden egg could be a piece of jewelry or a gift card for movies or games. Keep reading for more ideas!
When it comes to Easter baskets, think outside the box—or rather, the basket. For teens, consider filling those baskets with items that cater to their interests but still tie back to the theme of Spring and renewal. Think eco-friendly gifts or gift cards to their favorite outdoor gear shops.
For adults, let's elevate the Easter basket to something more sophisticated: a basket filled with artisanal cheeses, a bottle of crisp spring wine, and perhaps a DIY kit for making their own herbal teas or charcuterie board. It's all about providing the ingredients for a perfect spring afternoon.
If you need help with adult Easter basket gifts, we offer gift cards and curated picnic baskets!
Now, on to the main event: the Easter picnic brunch. This is where you can really let your creativity shine. Lay out a spread on rustic picnic tables or on blankets under the shade of a blossoming tree. Use decor fitting for the season: bunnies, greenery, fresh-cut flowers, and brightly colored plates and utensils.
For drinks, local wines and lemonade is refreshing. We enjoy pink lemonade with vodka at our gatherings. Kids (even adults!) will love their lemonades garnished with a sugared rim and brightly colored Peep.
For the menu, think fresh. A spring vegetable quiche, a salad with edible flowers, and freshly baked buns can make your picnic burst with flavors. Add trays of fresh fruits and veggies with dipping sauces. And, for a sweet touch, apple cinnamon muffins and mini cheesecakes topped with carrot-shaped chocolates could provide that Instagram-worthy moment.
Easter Sack Race at FiveNorthFarm
No Easter picnic would be complete without some activities to burn off all that brunch. The burlap sack race gets everyone laughing, and a piñata filled with adult- and kid-friendly goodies can add a playful touch to the festivities.
And for a quieter moment, why not set up a DIY centerpiece station? Your guests can craft table decorations using spring flowers and Easter motifs, creating a personalized souvenir to take home.
Here are some of my suggestions for prizes you can place inside the eggs and piñatas. For me, it's all about personalization and cool prizes. When choosing your gifts, consider your guests' interests and diets. Do they drink alcohol? Are they on a gluten-free diet? Are the kids into unicorns or video games? The more you can personalize the prizes, the more special your guests will feel and the more memorable your picnic brunch will be.
Any gifts too big for the eggs or pinata can be numbered and kept aside. Just place a corresponding numbered paper in the egg.
What better way to celebrate Easter than with a picnic that brings your family and friends together outdoors? It's a chance to create new traditions, enjoy the beauty of Spring, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
